Mr. John Cobbina one of the oldest Santaclausians was born in December 1921 at Feyiase, near Kumasi, and attended Adisadel College from 1937, completing his education in 1942. Having already held the post of Deputy Head Prefect, it was during Mr. John Cobbina’s final year at Adisadel in 1942 that he had the honour of being Head Prefect.
Mr. Cobbina saw the tail end of the glorious headmastership of Reverend Alan John Knight, M.A., L.L.B. (Cantab), by which time the School was firmly ensconced on the Hill and therefore had its permanent home. There were at the time just three Houses, Hamlyn, Quaque, and Elliot. The developments including the Science Block below which was the bathhouse, Knight House and Canterbury House were added to the infrastructure later, in the 1950s. The old Dining Hall and the College Chapel had been built at the time Mr. Cobbina was Head Prefect so we have an idea of the school he ruled over constituting about 200 students.
